wmStRadio - Window Maker Stream Radio ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: So what is wmstradio? A: It is a Window Maker doc app that acts like a radio for streamed media. It reads a list of "chanels" and allows them to be selected in a radio like interface. Q: Isn't that almost exactly what the README says? A: If you read the README, why did you ask? Q: Who wrote this? A: The initial development and two releases were done by Matt Sytsma. Current development now continues under the watchful eye of Robert E. Hak. Q: So you mean the current maintainer isn't the author? A: Nope. Two completely different people. Q: What gives you the right to take over someone else's project? A: Well, primarily the GPL that it's released under. Further I tried to contact Matt several times and was unable to. Add in that the program was not touched in over two years, and the source can be considered open to be taken over. Q: What made you decide to take over the project? A: I attempted to contact Matt with a few bug fixes and was unable to reach him. I thought it was a usable program and wanted to continue with it. I also have way to much free time. Q: What if Matt comes back? A: I'll deal with that when it happens, but my general opinion is that this is his project at its root. I'm just giving it a bit of a kick in the butt. Q: How can I send you bug reports/feature request? A: Drop an email to adiamas at users.sourceforge.net Q: Is there any other way for me to contact you? A: Sure. You can try and reach me on AolIM (wmstradio). Q: Why isn't my channel loading? A: Is it in the .wmstradio directory? Do you have RealPlayer installed? Is your channel a zero length file? Do you have the correct address in the file? Q: Does this support anything other then RealPlayer? A: Not currently, but I feel that would be fairly easy to accomplish.
